Consortium for Skin Research

Mission Statement and Goals

The Consortium for Skin Research endeavors to foster an effective and efficient cross-organizational agenda for promoting professional, public, and governmental support for and awareness of the necessity of skin biology and disease research.

Current Members of the Consortium:

• The American Academy of Dermatology
• The Association of Professors of Dermatology
• The Coalition of Patient Advocates for Skin Disease Research
• The Dermatology Foundation
• The Society for Investigative Dermatology

Goals of the Consortium:

1. To educate the public, professional organizations, lay groups, and government professionals about the importance of skin biology and disease research
2. To foster communication among dermatology specialty organizations to encourage unity regarding research issues
3. To identify and prioritize financial and manpower needs for skin biology and disease in the United States
4. To coordinate financial and staff resources of the member organizations bin an effort to maximize promotion of skin-related research
