Background on Organization ::
Founded
in 1994 by Rhett J. Drugge. M.D., the Internet Dermatology Society was
at the forefront of the Internet frenzy and one of the first groups to
recognize and anticipate the power of the Internet.
Since its
founding, the organization has grown to 2000 + physician members from
over 102 countries around the world.
The
Society's Electronic Textbook of Dermatology was the first
Internet-based dermatology resource and as such it has gained great
recognition as an authoritative resource for dermatology worldwide.
Today it is one of the most respected dermatological resources in the
world and has in excess of 12,000 unique visitors each week. Over
700,000 visitors gained useful information from it in 2001.
The
organization is now planning its 8th Annual Scientific and Technology
Meeting to be held in conjunction with the American Academy of
Dermatology in San Francisco California. These well-attended meetings
have provided an insight into the most advanced uses of technology to
advance the science of dermatology for the dermatologists who seek to
apply technology to their practice.
If you
can’t attend but would like to receive a summary of the event, indicate
this at the Registration page.
